“Palestinians Should not be Left Alone in Standing up for Justice ”

Here’s my realization for the reading I had today. Although it is untrue that nobody cares for Palestinian prisoners, this belief is justified by thousands of Palestinian families. In order for the rights of prisoners to take center stage in the wider Palestinian struggle for freedom, Palestinians themselves and Palestinian solidarity networks everywhere must position the problem at the top of the political agenda of Palestine.

Adding this note that in order to gain basic human rights, Al-Akhras and thousands like him should not have to risk their lives, which should, in principle, be guaranteed under international law. Just as critically, Palestinian prisoners should not be left alone, paying the price for daring to stand up for justice and equity, and for the rights of their citizens.
