A Turkish officer kicked the bucket and four others were injured in an assault on a stock caravan in northern Syria, Turkey’s National Defense Ministry declared in a proclamation yesterday.

“In the Operation Spring Shield zone, one of our saint individual fighters was martyred and four of our courageous individual troopers were harmed in the rocket assault on our inventory escort on May 10, 2021,” the service said on Twitter.

The harmed were moved to the medical clinic.

Turkey declared the dispatch of Operation Spring Shield on 1 March. It has been completing various counter-psychological warfare military activities against what it says are components of the banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in northern Iraq and Syria, including ‘Activity Euphrates Shield’ in 2016, ‘Activity Olive Branch’ in 2018, and ‘Activity Peace Spring’ 2019.
